Science Fair Report Guidelines
Content: Every science fair report should be of adequate length to
thoroughly explain the project.
This explanation should include research findings, findings from your
experiment, and how the two tie together.
You should have a source page/bibliography. This is where you give credit to the sources you used when
locating your information, and anyone who helped you. You should also create a cover page for your report.
Cover
Page: This page
should have the title of the project and your name. It could include graphics or designs.
The
Report: Your report should include these
things:
á
Title
á
An
introduction paragraph
á
At
least two paragraphs describing what you found out doing your research
á
At
least one paragraph describing how you conducted your experiment
á
At
least one paragraph describing how your experiment confirms or discounts your
research - this should also include your conclusion
á
Source
Page
Your
report should be typed in Arial, Comic Sans, or Tahoma font. The font should be size 14, and your
report should be double-spaced. If
you choose to write your report by hand it should be in ink, and on the fronts
of pages only. A hand written
report should be neat and well spaced.
All reports should be free of grammar and spelling mistakes. Pages in the report should be numbered
at the bottom.
Your
report should be stapled one time in the upper left hand corner or bound with a
report cover.
You should
include a table of contents just under the title page for your report if you
are in grades 9-12.
The
Bibliography/Source Page: Find your English book and refer to
the pages in the book that tell how to cite sources. Do not list your sources for the project on your display
board. Those belong in your report.
