Mrs. Faith Butler has served Greenwood County for several years as an Emergency Medical Technician. Her role as a first responder has impacted many citizens in our community. The sixth grade science classes were treated to a presentation, on September 30th , in which Mrs. Butler shared her knowledge of the cardiovascular and respiratory systems. Along with answering many questions about the heart and lungs and how they interact, Mrs. Butler also shared her responsibilities while on the ambulance. Students found out what training she had to have to become an EMT and what personal skills were necessary to work effectively in emergency situations. Finally, students learned some basic first aid procedures to follow in case they found themselves in a position to help someone who was hurt.
