EJSHS To Puerto Rico, March 2013
Community Members Welcome Too
January 18, 2012
Thirteen students and parents traveled to Puerto Rico for seven days during the month of June 2009 on an education tour with Spanish teacher, Karen Gudde.
Another such opportunity is now available for students in the community and in EJSHS. The trip for 2013 is being planned right now and you can join us!
A meeting is to be held for planning purposes on January 24 at 5 PM in the Foreign Language Room at the high school. If you would like information, please join us at this meeting.
The group will go to San Juan, Puerto Rico, and will be venturing all around this small "isla bonita" in the Caribbean.
The group will go from San Juan to various other parts of the island, including El Yunque (only rainforest in the USA), Ponce, la Parguera, Arecibo and Camuy. The group will swim in a bioluminescent bay (only six of them in the world - 3 in Puerto Rico), snorkel in the beautiful Caribbean waters, and come to know on a personal basis the history of this intriguing part of the United States.
The tour is a lot of fun but also educational with visits to lots of historical sites such as the fort of San Cristóbal, a fort that was built by the first Spaniards to inhabit the island to protect from invading groups.
If you do have any questions, you may e-mail for information: tdavis@389ks.org or kbarraza@389ks.org and we would be glad to visit with you or we will see you at the meeting....and then on the plane!!
