The Kansas Family,
Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) State
Officers, Peer Education teams, and novice FCCLA members recently
participated in a
Training conference held August 30 and 31 at Cross Wind Conference
Center in
Hesston. There were approximately 300 officers, members and
advisors in attendance.
Rhett Laubach, who
facilitated the training, illustrated basic facts about FCCLA
along with leadership skills, teambuilding and demonstrating the
seven principles of The
Samurai. Mr. Laubach is a full-time Professional Speaker/Author
from the small rural
community of Laverne, Oklahoma. His company, YourNextSpeaker,

and presents over 200 motivational programs every year. He has
trained hundreds of
student leaders on skills ranging from public speaking, goal
achieving, team dynamics,
creative thinking, personal organization, and character education.
He has presented for
over 10 years in 25 states in North America to over 250,000

Family, Career and
Community Leaders of America is unique among youth
organizations because its programs are planned and run by members.
It is the only
national in-school organization with the family as its central
focus. Participation in
national programs and chapter activities helps members become
strong leaders in their
families, careers, and communities.
