Math Day

Students Attend Math Day


Over 560 students from 44 high schools attended the annual Donald L. Bruyr Mathematics Day at Emporia State University on Wednesday, October 28. The annual math competition consisted of an algebra team, geometry team, and math scramble team contest, along with individual contests in algebra and geometry. Eureka High School entered 15 students in the contests.


Students in the algebra team contest were Samantha Worley, Kathleen McKenzie, and Lydia Bechtel. The team finished 9th.

The members of the team geometry contest were Braden Barrett, Ashley McCoy, and Latham Wiggins.

The math scramble team was comprised of William Henley, Ambrea Hendrickson, and Scott Hughes. They finished 7th.

Those students competing in the individual algebra contest were Aaron Cox, Thomas Lowe, and Taylyn Schwartz The individual geometry participants were Trevor Ruge, who placed 9th, Aaron Mitchell, and Tyler Spore.

Marty Powell sponsored the students. Congratulations to all of these top-notch students!
