Varsity Team Wins Second at League Competition

The annual Tri-Valley League quiz tournament was hosted by Burlington on January 23, 2012. Eureka competed at the varsity and junior varsity level and placed 2nd in varsity and 4th in junior varsity competition.
Varsity played 5 rounds and finished with a record of 4 wins/1 loss.
Wins:
Burlington 90 to 60
Fredonia 70 to 10
Yates Center 80 to 40
Humboldt 80 to 10
Loss:
Neodesha 45 to 50
During the round of competition that Eureka lost, we buzzed in early and answered the question wrong which caused a deduction of 5 points or we would have won league.
1st place went to Neodesha with a 5/0 record (plaque and medals)
2nd place to Eureka with a 4/1 record (plaque and medals)
3rd place to Burlington with a 2/3 record (medals)
A total of 365 points were scored during the competition. (breakdown of points below)

Junior varsity also competed for a league title. They played 6 rounds with a record of 3 wins/3 losses.

1st place went to Burlington with a 5/1 record (certificate).
2nd place to Fredonia with a 4/2 record (certificate).
Eureka ended up 4th with their 3/3 record. Point stats are not available because both teams played at the same time and therefore jv did not have a statistician. The team consisted of Grace Hendrickson, Jennifer Moffat, and Robert Obourn.
