Biographical Information
I grew up in Medicine Lodge, Kansas, which is about the same size as Eureka. I am married to Luke who works for the Natural Resources Conservation Service. We have four children: Ethan-7, Andrew-4, and twin girls Addison and Alaina-1. We have lived here in Eureka for 4 years.
Prior to my current 4th grade teaching position at Marshall Elementary, I worked in two other districts. I taught 3rd grade in Osage City for three years. I then worked in the Hamilton school district where I served as the PreK-12 school librarian for three years.
Classroom Information
This year we will be using SpellingCity.com in our classroom. SpellingCity is a web site that helps students learn their weekly spelling words while having fun at the same time. I will put the weekly spelling lists on SpellingCity and your child can review the words and play spelling games with their words to reinforce the learning process.
To access this resource, simply go to www.spellingcity.com. You can find our class spelling lists by clicking on "Find a list" and typing in my last name, westerman. The lists will appear and your child can immediately start using it to practice his or her words.
