Reading

READING SKILL: CONTEXT CLUES
      
     This week we begin our first hardback book!  It will come home every night (except Friday) in a book baggie.  Please help your child remember to return the book every day in the baggie. The Newsletter will tell you which story your child needs to practice reading each night.       

-MON & TUE: THE NAP (p.10-17)  
-WED & THURS: OH CATS! (p.18-40)

The mini-readers will be sent home on Friday to be read, signed, and returned.

Reading Words will come home on Mondays.
   
*Red Word Test, Story Test, and Spelling Test are on Friday

Red Reading Words: away, come, down, no, will

Spelling Words: at, cat, sat, go, no, an, man, ran, is, will

Math

Chapter 2: Using Addition

We will begin Chapter 2 this week.  We will learn different ways to make sums of 5,The Chapter Test will be on Friday.

Social Studies / Science

We will continue to discuss being a good friend to others. We will introduce the Personality Puppets as we discuss friendship and respecting others.

Reminders

BOOK ORDERS DUE FRIDAY SEPT 3rd

NO SCHOOL MONDAY SEPTEMBER 6th

Library books are due back by Thursday.

The student planners and homework folders need to be returned everyday.
