Kindergarten is off and running!

We have had a great start to the school year and are so happy to share our days with your amazing kiddos!
We are sure you have noticed the little hand gestures for the sounds the kiddos use when they read the letters and new words they have discovered. We use the Animated Literacy program to teach our students how to read. Each sound/letter has a character, song, and gesture to help the students remember it. It may seem a little funny, but it really works.
In math, we are learning to organize in columns and rows, use circular and scatter counting, 1-1 count to 5, and writing our numbers correctly 0-5.
In science, we are starting our Living and Non-Living unit. We will be learning about the characteristics of living and non-living things, plant parts, and various plant and animal life cycles.
We are very excited about the many wonderful things we have planned in Kindergarten this year. We want to welcome you to Marshall Elementary if this is your first year with us and look forward to getting to know you and your family.
