All About Me Writing

Well a new school year is underway and our third graders have been working hard as we begin lots of new and exciting things this year. J
We have already been working hard on reading strategies, phonics, math, social studies, cursive handwriting and a couple of small writing projects. As one of our beginning of the year writing projects, we wrote a small summary that describes things that are “All About Me”. The students brainstormed some ideas about their families, their pets, their friends, their hobbies and even their favorite foods. After getting their ideas down, the students rewrote their sentences about themselves on a final draft page that is in the shape of an acorn and we call the writing pieces “All About Me in a Nutshell”. We attached a picture of the students to their writing and they are hanging in the hallway on our class tree for all to enjoy. The kids worked really hard on these projects, and hopefully had some fun while writing them as well!
