Marshall Elementary is a nurturing family made up of 318 amazing kids, 31 Teachers, 19 paras, 2 custodians, 2 cooks, 1 nurse, 1 counselor, 2 secretaries, 1 librarian, 1 tech director, and 1 principal. This family continues to grow and flourish as it is supported by its additional family members including parents, guardians, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and generous community members. Our students are the focus of our daily work; as we collaborate to meet the needs of every student. Our students love to be a Eureka Tornado as they are given a challenging curriculum, provided social-emotional guidance, share leadership, and are deeply cared for and loved.
Our 31 teachers cover the student population with the following professional assignments: 1 ECH teacher, 1 pre-school teacher, 3 teachers per grade level (K-6), 1 PE teacher, 1 music teacher, 2 title teachers, 1 band teacher, and 3 special education teachers. Our teachers are known for their grit, generosity, and passion they show within their daily work and interactions. Building trusting relationships has been a primary focus and the key to the student success. Our building staff takes pride in teaching students; as they provide a challenging curriculum and incorporate fun engaging learning opportunities within the classrooms.
Our principal is Mrs. Coulter. She has taught in two other districts and has been a part of the Eureka schools since 2003. Within these last 20 years in Eureka, she has served in various teaching roles, district curriculum leadership, principal at the high school, and now the elementary principal. She is devoted to being a proactive leader, encourages an open communication line, and challenges everyone to practice their inner leadership.
Our building structure was built in 2002 and compliments the beauty where it lies within the Flint Hills in the north-east section of the City Eureka. Our student and family population are primarily driven by the rural farming, ranching industry, and small businesses. We are very fortunate to have community members and local businesses invested in our youth to support and share in our Marshall Family.
