Senior Year Information

October 13, 2025

Dear Senior Parents and Guardians,

Welcome to the fastest year ever…the senior year! I wanted to highlight a few things for you as the second semester approaches, but please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

I have included various websites to help guide you through senior year.

Save the Date…Our financial aid and Senior Information night will be Wednesday, October 29th, at 6:00 P.M. in the auditorium.  Butler County College will have a financial aid staff member here to share information and assist with FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) completion. You can begin completing the FAFSA on October 1. Please make a FSA ID prior to meeting, and bring all documentation needed to complete FAFSA.  We will also cover information about the SEP required for graduation as well as other important senior year information.

The first step to going to college is applying. For many students, applying to college can be a daunting task. It can be particularly overwhelming for students who may be the first in their family to pursue post-secondary educational dreams or have yet to consider their plans after high school. Lucky for EHS, we participated in the  “Apply Kansas” event during the month of October.  Apply Kansas is the annual statewide campaign in which high schools conduct an event to help seniors apply to college (all institutions) with their peers and with help, guidance, and a cheering squad from school staff, local community supporters, and post-secondary volunteers. In partnership with the American College Application Campaign of ACT, Apply Kansas is a month-long, state-wide initiative to increase the number of students applying, enrolling, and succeeding in college or other post-secondary goals.

Senior year is an important time to encourage seniors to work on independence and advocacy skills throughout this year.

Enjoy every moment!
