High School Wrestling in Full Swing

High School wrestling season has kicked off and our wrestlers have been knocking off some rust and getting better every single day. Competition has started and we have brought home some hardware at the few events we have attended so far. From the El Dorado tournament on December 6th, Maddox Hughes placed 3rd, Tate Scott placed 3rd, Fisher Hobbs placed 2nd, and Ashton Lawrence placed 3rd. From the McPherson girls tournament held in Lindsborg on December 6th, Emma Baumgartel placed 3rd, Maela Neill placed 5th and Harlie Owings placed 2nd. From the Minneapolis tournament held on December 13th, Emma Baumgartel placed 3rd, Maela Neill placed 2nd and Harlie Owings was the tournament champion. Tate Scott placed 2nd at Minneapolis on the boys side. The boys and girls team both competed at the Chase County Bulldog Jamboree on December 11th, Chevelle Chastain competed at the Coffeyville girls JV invitational on December 12th, no medals are awarded at either of these events. To round out the wrestling season before Christmas break, the JV boys will compete in Coffeyville on Monday December 15th and boys and girls will compete on December 19th in Hoisington at the Cardinal Classic. Great start to the season and look to build off of it moving forward! We host our home JV tournament on January 23rd and the home varsity invitational tournament on January 24th, come out and support these great wrestlers.
