In world history our classes have gone from Ancient Greeks & Ancient Romans all the way through WWI. The kids have been hungry to learn & determined to be high achievers. The classroom has gotten some new art work on the walls from this group that might have hard time being replaced with future projects. It is truly a fun group to teach, they are never lacking energy & keep me on my toes. Their work in the classroom has been solid & are continuing to learn how to research, comprehend & making arguments/points supported by evidence.
The government class has shown great work ethic & understanding when it comes to how our government functions. Watching the students study how our system works then creating their own class governments has been a joy. The kids understand the rule of law & do a great job of coming to agreements when making new laws for the class. This has been an amazing class, it is an absolute blast to teach & will be missed once they graduate.
In Football news our season didn't end the way we wanted it to but there was a lot of positives to celebrate from the year. This year we tied with 1997 as the 9th highest scoring team in a season with 262 points. Claimed the 7th district title in school history & had many athletes receive post season awards. For TVL we had TJ Mills first team WR, Peyton Hare first team QB, Noah Rippy 1st team LB, Gauge Lopez 1st team DL, Killian Harrington Honorable Mention OL, Justin Andrews Honorable Mention RB, Peyton Hare Honorable Mention LB, Cole Ptacek Honorable Mention DB. For District we had Peyton Hare Unanimous Offensive MVP, Peyton Hare 1st team QB, Justin Andrews 1st team RB, Cole Ptacek 1st team WR, TJ Mills 1st team WR, Killian Harrington 1st team OL, Gauge Lopez Unanimous 1st team DL, Noah Rippy 1st team LB, Cole Ptacek 1st team DB, Will Fitzwater 2nd team OL, Gauge Lopez 2nd team OL, Justin Andrews 2nd team DL, Jameson Stewart 2nd team DL, Peyton Hare 2nd team LB, Brody Mitchel Honorable Mention offensive utility. For Grasslands we had Brody Mitchell 1st team TE, TJ Mills 1st team WR, Cole Ptacek 1st team WR, Killian Harrington 2nd team OL, Gauge Lopez 2nd team DL, Noah Rippy 2nd team LB, Mason Hughes 2nd team DB, Christian Andrews 2nd team DB, Peyton Hare Honorable Mention QB, Will Fitzwater Honorable Mention OL, Justin Andrews Honorable Mention DL. In after school weights we are excited to say we have big crowds daily with older kids leading the young kids. We are perfecting our form in the weight room & seeing great results off it from the young kids. We also are improving our speed while competing vs each other. I hope to continue to see large groups coming over from the Elementary building after break!
