Marshall Elementary Tree

September 28, 2023

Welcome back to a new school year!

As always, our Marshall students kicked off the new school year with a school wide art project. This year, the students voted on creating a rainbow tree. Before we got started on our leaves, we got the chance to create our own rainbow using a triangular prism.  We discovered that red is always at the top of a rainbow because it has the longest wavelength and purple will always be at the bottom because it has the shortest wavelength.

Using that fun fact to guide us, It was decided that the 6th and 5th Grade should create pink and red leaves since they have been in school for the longest period of time, while Kindergarten and PreK/ECH needed to be purple since they have been in school the shortest. How cool!! Each student then picked their favorite leaf shape and got busy creating a monochromatic design using a variety of mediums.  The Marshall teachers and staff are also getting to be apart of the fun by adding their initials on the trunk of the tree. The tree is up and on display in the commons area. Please check it out next time your at Marshall Elementary. It looks so neat!

Here is a list of grades and their respective color.
