Title I Information

Marshall Elementary School is a school-wide Title I serviced school. According to the KSDE, Title l provides funding to schools with high numbers of students that qualify for free and/or reduced-priced lunches to help ensure that all children meet challenging Kansas College and Career Ready State Standards. The purpose of Title I is to ensure that all children have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high-quality education and reach, at a minimum, proficiency on challenging State academic standards. Title I provides instructional support in addition to classroom instruction. Parent engagement is also an important aspect of Title 1. 

 

Marshall Elementary Title I services:

  • Tier 2 para support either in the classroom, individually, or small group pull-out for Reading and Math (K-3rd)
  • Tier 2 para support either in the classroom, individually, or small group during study hall and/or when para is available for Reading and Math (4-6th)
  • Tier 3 Title teacher support pull-out with small group or individually, or with classroom teacher in a classroom small group for Reading and Math (K-3rd)
  • Tier 3 Title teacher & staff support before school in Breakfast Club and/or after school in tutoring program called TEAM (3-6th)
  • Progress Monitoring of Reading Tier 2 & Tier 3 students (K-6th)
  • Progress Monitoring of Math Tier 3 students (K-3rd)
  • Benchmark testing 3 times a year in Reading and Math
  • Parent support & resources
  • Parent Engagement 
  • Teacher support & resources as needed
  • Summer School K-5th

 

Family Fun Nights are held annually for each grade K-6th. The evening begins with a sign-in activity. Then staff are introduced and explain available Title services for that grade level. A fun, engaging activity is then completed with family members. Next, everyone moves into the gym, and students sing their favorite songs. After that, students participate in p.e. games or activities. Lastly, lemonade and cookies are served as parents complete a Title survey.

Summer School 2024 will be held the month of June! If your child was invited to attend summer school, you were given a form during parent/teacher conferences. Make sure to return the form to school as soon as possible so bussing can be arranged. Summer school will be held Monday, June 3rd- Friday, June 28th (Monday-Friday) from 8:30-11:30 a.m. There is no cost to attend summer school and transportation is provided. Students are also able to eat breakfast and lunch each day. If you have any questions about summer school, please call Marshall Elementary and ask for Mrs. Coulter or Mrs. Hoover. 620.583.5537

Summer Packets for grades K-5th will also be available for students in May. A form will be sent home with each student. Please sign and return it if you’d like your child to have a grade-level review packet. This is a great way to spend 15-30 minutes a day reviewing reading and math skills taught during the school year.
