News From the Art Room
March 24, 2026
In the Art Room second semester we have been busy busy making clay projects. All of the Art Foundations students have made a mask and a choice project in clay and painted/glazed them. And Ceramics I students have been rotating through projects while learning the potters wheel. They have each made a tile project, a gnome house, a coil vase with something 3-D coming out of it and 1 or 2 bowls on the potters wheel over the last 6 weeks. Now we are glazing the projects and waiting "patiently" for the kiln to run so we can see how they came out.
Ceramics II students have made tic tac toe sets and abstract sculptures most recently. And our one Ceramics III student has been working on a three tiered cake and now starting on a cake stand. Then Advanced Art student Grace Vogt has been challenging herself and learned how to throw a chip and dip bowl on the potter's wheel as well as a double wall bowl. Other classes are painting and drawing wonderful things; and seniors are beginning their senior tiles. The students are excited to pick their favorite projects to be in the Project Fair May 12th. But for now please enjoy a few pictures of students' projects that are attached.
